THE WINNERS
The Mystic Magic 2020 Challenge has now come to a close.
This Challenge was set up to beta test the new Turnpoint Challenge system and has been a great success. From a system point of view we think it is now looking great, very user friendly, performing well and ready for the season ahead.
Aside from testing the system, the Mystic Magic Challenge was a lot of fun.
With the COVID lockdowns, regional Victoria has been lucky to have fewer restrictions than Melbourne so 17 local pilots of all skill levels were able to get out and enjoy it. Even during our winter conditions, there has been a few days where pilots were still able to get out and achieve some great results.
For the most turnpoints tagged during the entire challenge - in the advanced class David Cocks won with 36 turnpoints tagged, followed by David Snowden on 32 and Roger Turner on 30. Well done guys!
For the most turnpoints tagged in a single flight Dave Cocks won overall with 23, then Phil Joughin and Wally both with 18.
Fantastic flying guys!

WELCOME TO THE MYSTIC MAGIC 2020 CHALLENGE
This challenge is being run to allow for testing of the Turnpoint Challenge system.
There are some things we are aware of that are still not yet completed. They will not impact the Challenge .. rather they are 'nice to haves' on the mapping page.
If you notice anything else that is not working correctly please let us know asap on admin@turnpointchallenge.com.au or alternatively contact Jacqx or Mike Chapman if you see them around on launch or in the lz.
All flights should be uploaded within 2 weeks of the flight having been completed AND they must be submitted within 7 days of the close of the challenge.

WHERE ARE THE WAYPOINTS
With over 150 waypoints in the Mystic Magic 2020 challenge, there are plenty of opportunities for pilots to achieve really great results. Enjoy the excitement of launching from new locations and stretching your wings in unknown areas.
The turnpoint challenge helps give purpose to your flights, especially when flying an unfamiliar site.
Please give the map at least 30 seconds to appear with the waypoints on it .. sometimes it can be a little slow.
DOWNLOADING MYSTIC MAGIC WAYPOINTS
Different flight instruments require different file formats for their waypoints.
We have attempted to be as flexible as possible by providing 2 different waypoint formats.
1. WPT format
This is a common file format for a lot of flight instruments.
When importing it into your flight instrument please remember to set a 400m cylinder radius for each waypoint.
Some instruments allow you to set a standard default, others will require you to set the cylinder radius for each waypoint.
Some of the coastal waypoints are actually in the ocean however, with the 400m radius tagging the turnpoint will not require flying over the ocean.
REMEMBER: You do not need to hit the waypoint in order to tag the turnpoint.
See FAQ - What is the difference between a waypoint and a turnpoint.
2. AIRSPACE TXT FORMAT
Our resident guru Jan has created an airspace file that you may be able to use on some flight equipment. It will automatically show all of the turnpoints as 'general' airspace and will neatly draw the turnpoints at the correct 400m radius on your maps.
You may need to check your equipment settings to see what notifications these turnpoints will produce as it may be a bit disconcerting to be constantly alerted to airspace infringements.
REMEMBER: You do not need to hit the waypoint in order to tag the turnpoint.
See FAQ - What is the difference between a waypoint and a turnpoint.
